May 4, 2014

This is the testimony of how Keenan Clousing came to The Lord. Keenan struggled with heroin and died of an overdose. He worked hard to turn his life around as he loved his son Jaylen deeply.

Keenan was my firstborn. I relinquished him for adoption to Joel and Patti Clousing at birth. I handpicked them to raise my son. I felt an extreme sense of urgency to let him go…like his life depended on it. None of us knew what lie in store for Keenan, but God knew. When Keenan was in his early teens he reached out to me. We developed a relationship. I soon realized how exceptional my son was. I knew his struggles but was still so proud of the heart in him. In one of his last letters to me, shortly before his death, Keenan said, “I’m going to do great things, mom. I’m going to make you proud and you’re going to say ‘that’s my son.'” He did do great things and yes I am very proud and yes I have said to the world, “that’s my son.” Ironically he left this world on the very date that I entered it. How crazy is that. The day I was born was the day he entered paradise…out of all the 365 days in the year he saw Jesus on the very day that Jesus breathed life into his birth mother. I stand in awe at the hands of providence.

    • Hi Toni,

Thanks so much for reaching out. Yes God’s hand is awesome in power and providence!

We know we can’t lean on our own understanding but what we do know is that the Lord works all things for good to those who love Him.
