A Day of Giving for Abby Muys-Wolf

Culver’s® gives back to a former employee on Monday, November 12th.

Tinley Park, Orland Park, Matteson, Homewood & Frankfort, IL (Grassroots Newswire) — The Tinley Park, Orland Park, Matteson, Homewood & Frankfort Culver’s® is giving back to a formal employee of Culver’s on Monday, November 12th. The 5 local Culver’s will be donating 10% of their sales on Monday, November 12th. Everyone that eats at Culver’s on the 12th will be donating to Abby to help her pay for her medical bills. Abby Muys-Wolf found out in 2006 that she had a brain tumor, and has been living with it ever since. Below is her story;

“I came home from my missions trip (in the winter) in ’06; and in Spring I experienced seizures for the first time. That summer after I noticed vision problems that led to an MRI, they found my brain tumor. Dr.’s said it was about the size of an 6 inch sub sandwich but like a water balloon, it squished and just pushed my brain over. A week later I had brain surgery where they took out about half of the tumor…. but the rest was left in due to being intertwined with my brain. I feel blessed coming out of a brain surgery only to lose my left peripheral vision; when during my surgery they woke me up to see if I was paralyzed. A year later I went through an 8-week session of radiation every day; and did a full year of chemotherapy in 2011. I am currently doing a second round of chemo. The Dr.’s put a timeline on me/brain tumors, but I have a Joy knowing that God is in control.””At Culver’s, we care about making a difference in the community, and one of best ways to do that is by helping those going through difficult times,” said Justin Obriecht, owner of Culver’s of Tinley Park, Orland Park, Matteson, Homewood & Frankfort. “A Day of Giving for Abby helps a former employee pay some of her medical bills.”

Culver’s support of A Day of Giving for Abby is part of a tradition of giving back to the community. From Culver’s founders to each locally owned and operated restaurant, each franchise partner and team member understands the importance of serving those in need.
